ALEF Selects Its Twentieth Class of Fellows
The Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation (ALEF) has completed its selection process for the 2025 ALEF Tango Class. This is the twentieth year that ALEF has put together a group of young men and women from West Virginia who have extraordinary leadership, academic, and social skills and who have great potential to be the leaders in our communities, in government, and in our businesses. Each new Fellow exhibits the core values ALEF espouses – integrity, excellence, and service.

 Jeanna Bradford is from Gilbert, WV and graduated from Mingo Central High School. She will attend Marshall University and major in Physical Therapy. Jeanna was Captain of her high school basketball and volleyball teams, President of numerous high school organizations, a member of the National Honor Society, and won many awards. She was also engaged in numerous community service activities.

Josh Copley will attend Marshall University and major in Secondary Education. He graduated from Tug Valley High School and is from Lenore, WV. Josh was Co-President of the student body, Vice President of the National Honor Society, a member of the Beta Club, Editor of the school newspaper, and numerous other school and community organizations.
Robert Ilderton graduated from Logan High School and will attend WVU. He’s from Logan, WV and will major in Civil Engineering. He was Captain of the high school basketball team and the baseball team. He was the Freshman Class President, a member of the Beta Club, the National Honor Society, and the Fellowship of Christan Athletes.
Kauai Messer is from Delbarton, WV. She graduated from Tug Valley High School and will attend Marshall University. Kauai will major in Exercise Science. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and the Beta Club. She was Captain of her high school volleyball team and a member of the Fellowship of Christan Athletes. She has several Associates Degrees.
Nina Porter will attend Marshall University and will major in Journalism. She is from Logan, WV and graduated from Logan High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, and was a Class Officer for four years. Nina graduated from high school with over 60 hours college credit. She’s heavy engaged in community service.
Lydia Riddle is from Wheeling, WV where she graduated from Wheeling Park High School. She will attend WVU and major in Biochemistry. Lydia was a member of the National Honor Society, the Key Club, the Student Council, and played soccer. She was active in numerous community service activities.
Haven Tomblin will attend Marshall University and major in Physical Therapy. She is from Foster, WV and graduated from Scott High School. She was a member of the Student Council and was vice President. Haven was a member of the National Honor Society, the Chorus, and the high school basketball team where she was team Captain.
Sydnie Wolfe will attend Marshall University and major in Biology. She is from Chapmanville, WV and graduated from Chapmanville Regional High School. Sydnie was a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Council, Captain of the Archery team, and Eagle’s Nest. She won numerous academic awards.
