ALEF and Natural Resource Partners — a natural fit!
The Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation (ALEF) is delighted to announce a partnership with a well known and respected business entity with deep roots in West Virginia – Natural Resource Partners L.P. This year, both organizations found a common theme to move forward together – investing in the future of West Virginia by enabling the next generation of leadership.
“This is a great fit for ALEF and Natural Resource Partners. We are both committed to community service and advancing the opportunities for the young men and women of our state,” said General (ret) Robert H. “Doc” Foglesong, President of ALEF. “A great way to enable our communities is to enable the young men and women who will lead our communities. That’s what this arrangement is about.”
As part of their commitment, Natural Resource Partners is helping sponsor Jerad Cook. Jerad is attending Concord University and is majoring in pre-medicine. He is from Oceana and graduated from Westside High School where he was a member of numerous organizations to include the National Honor Society and was captain of the football team. Jerad is a sophomore and had excellent grades his freshman year.
Nick Carter, President of Natural Resource Partners, was equally excited about the opportunity to partner with ALEF. “We consider our social responsibility an important part of the character of Natural Resource Partners. ALEF offers us the chance to, once again, demonstrate that we are committed to West Virginia, its communities, and the young people who will lead those communities and our state,” stated Carter.
