ALEF Selects Its Sixteenth Class of Fellows
The Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation (ALEF) has completed its selection process for the 2021 ALEF Papa Class. This is the sixteenth year that ALEF has put together a group of young men and women from West Virginia who have extraordinary leadership, academic, and social skills and who have great potential to be the leaders in our communities, in government, and in our businesses. Each new Fellow exhibits the core values ALEF espouses – integrity, excellence, and service.

Braden Copley graduated from Cabell Midland High School and attends Marshall University. He majors in nursing. Braden is from Culloden, WV. He had excellent grades and was a member of the National Honor Society. He is also an Eagle Scout and was very active in school band. Braden also was active in numerous school and community service events.
Kaitlyn Copley is from Lenore, WV and graduated from Tug Valley High School. She attends Concord University and majors in Biochemistry. She has excellent grades. Kaitlyn was active in sports and was a member of the Beta Club.
Connor Gibson is from Brenton, WV and graduated from Westside High School. He attends Concord University and majors in Business Administration. He played baseball and was Co-Captain of the football team in high school. Connor was a member of the National Honor Society and had excellent grades. He was also active in several community service activities.

Daniel Gibson attends Marshall University and majors in Education. He's from Wharncliffe, WV and graduated from Mingo Central High School. Daniel was a member of Beta Club, the Student Council and the Soccer Team. He was very active in numerous school and community service projects. Daniel had excellent grades.
 Joshua Hatfield is from Verdunville, WV and graduated from Logan High School. He attends Marshall University and majors in Computer Science. He had excellent grades. Joshua was President of the Student Government, a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, the Student Council, and numerous other high school organizations. He was involved in multiple community service activities.
 Luke Jeffrey graduated from Logan High School and is from Logan, WV. He attends Marshall University majoring in Accounting. He had outstanding grades. Luke was Captain of the Tennis Team, State President of the Beta Club, and was the West Virginia State Heisman Winner. He was President of his class and a member of the Student Council. Luke was deeply engaged in multiple community service activities.
 Ashley McClure is from Barboursville, WV and graduated from Cabell Midland High School. She attends Marshall University and majors in Communications. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Beta Club. Ashley had excellent grades. She was also engaged in numerous community service activities.
Bryanna Mills is from Kermit, WV and attended Tug Valley High School. She is attending Concord University and majoring in Secondary Education. She had excellent grades and continues to do so in college. Bryanna was active in multiple high school organizations.
 Lillian Robbins is from Augusta, WV and graduated from Hampshire High School. She is attending Shepherd University majoring in Biology with a minor in Mathletics. She had outstanding grades in high school and has continued her academic success in college. Lilly was President of student government, Captain of cheer leading and track teams, and a member of the National Honor Society..
 Nicholas Shirley attends West Virginia University majoring in Civil Engineering. He is from Martinsburg, WV and graduated from Spring Mills High School. Nick was President of the National Honor Society, Captain of the tennis, soccer, and debate teams, and a member/officer of numerous other high school organizations. He was very active in community and school service activities.
Benjamin Wade is from Tridelphia, WV and attends West Virginia University. He is majoring in Civil Engineering. He has excellent grades. He continues to participate in numerous community service activities and has many awards for leadership.
 Kellie Walters attends Marshall University and majors in Health Sciences. She is from Looneyville, WV and graduated from Roane County High School. Kellie was a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. She was very active in community activities and had excellent grades.
